Iced Coffee in the Montenegro Sunshine
Sometimes you just need an iced coffee. That can be a difficult find in Europe. Finally, after backpacking around the Balkans and bumming on Montenegrin beaches, we found some suitable, Nescafe frappes on a 15th century, fortified island village. This crazy, little resort spent centuries as a glamorous destination on the Adriatic (with visitors such as Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor). We managed to visit in 2006. It was a curious time for the island, which had fallen into disrepair after the disintegration of Yugoslavia. In 2008 it was taken over by a luxury hotel group and now rooms go for around 1000 Euros a night! Happy I got that iced coffee when I did.
