At the local Pyramid Winery the pyramid itself is as much of a character as its owners. If you saw the Cypes family you would think them to be tree planters but really they are passionate vintners producing bio-dynamic wine and winning awards for it.
The pyramid is where wine is aged and thought to gain mystical powers and flavours from it. Within the tasting room the photo of the pyramid being struck by lightning might convert any skeptics. The pyramid also offers an area for the owners to beat drums with their hands that call to mind a ceremonial history of First Nations clan, the Syilx, that still call the Okanagan home today.
Besides the quirky character this winery holds with its locals it also serves delicious wine, including the newer Canadian tradition, icewine, and serves farm to table food in the dinning room and patio overlooking their vineyard and lake Okanagan.
