Sultan’s Armed Forces Museum

Al Mujamma St, Muscat, Oman

Once a royal summer home called Bait Al-Falaj (Bait means home in Arabic), this museum showcases Oman’s extensive military history and international relations. For many years, the museum served as a military headquarters—and in the late 1970s, by order of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, it was converted into a museum. It’s staffed by knowledgeable personnel from the Omani armed forces; visitors will leave with a greater understanding of and appreciation for Oman.
