Nope, not a big cookie
When I approached this woman in a Bangkok market, I mimed eating her colorful wares. I thought they were cookies for the upcoming Loy Krathong Festival. She found this to be very funny.

These lotus-shaped boats are used in the festival. Candles and sometimes a coin are placed in it and it's set afloat. At night bodies of water are covered in thousands of flickering lights.

The Loy Krathong Festival is usually on the first full moon in November. It's really magical and not to be missed.

We up to Sukhothai for their elaborate festival. I did set a lotus afloat. It was made of banana leaves and covered in flowers. No mistaking it for a cookie.
