Simple quality is key at Sugarfish Beverly Hills and its nine other locations throughout the LA area. The secret ingredient: Chef Kazunori Nozawa’s relationships with fishmongers around the globe and his skill at selecting, cutting, and presenting only the best. The melt-in-your-mouth fish is paired with loosely-packed rice and sauces including freshly-made soy and ponzu. Ordering is best done from one of three preset menus: “Trust Me,” with edamame, two hand rolls, and a combination of sushi and sashimi; “Trust Me / Lite” for a little less; and “Nozawa Trust Me” for a little more, including the always-delicious surprise “Daily Special.” The mantra of simplicity rings through all aspects of the business: the price even includes tip.
