You don't have to be a Beatles fan to fully appreciate Strawberry Fields but let's face it, we all do. Central Park spans from 59th Street all the way up to 110th Street but most of the activity takes place between 59th Street and 74th Street.
Right near Central Park West, across from John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono's apartment on 72nd Street is "Strawberry Fields". The memorial of sorts was created in remembrance of his murder in 1981. This spot was said to be his and his wife's favorite place in the park.
Although a tragic event, Strawberry Fields is such a happy place. During the mornings it's relatively quiet but on the weekends you can usually spot a musician or two singing Beatles cover songs.
