Less than an hour's drive from Saint John, the picture-perfect fishing village of St. Martins on the Bay of Fundy boasts pristine beaches and a busy harbor that empties of water when the tide goes out. Tidal charts let walkers know the best time to cross the ocean floor to St. Martins's sea caves. St. Martins is also the gateway to the Fundy Trail, both a 19-kilometer (11.8-mile) scenic coastal parkway and a multiuse trail that runs mostly parallel to the parkway for 16 kilometers (10 miles).
