Abstract on the Carenage of St. George
After hiking the steep side streets to Grenada's Saturday St. George market for fresh produce and spices, I decided to come back to the waterfront to walk the Carenage. A sidewalk that hugs the horseshoe-shaped port, the Carenage takes you past fishermen, ships unloading goods from the mainland, and other people out to enjoy the fine weather. I looked at a docked ship and was struck by this unlikely art: the reflected lights of the water playing off a rusty anchor and steel hull created an abstract of color and light that I had to capture with my camera.
