Cobblestones, Red Wine & Macarons...and, truth be told, a good number of tourists clambering around...
Regardless, St. Émillion is not to be missed!
The roman town, a designated UNESCO Heritage Site, is located in the midst of the beautiful Pomerol region. We'd taken bikes over from Libourne, where our ship was anchored for the night–riding around stone walled vineyards was the perfect preamble.
St.Émilion is petite, picturesque, and offers great boutiques, macaron bakeries, restaurants and wine stores. Make sure you explore the side streets, and stay for a glass, or for dinner, after the day trippers have left. You won't regret it!
