Mesa Verde National Park is a remarkable place, and the Go Ahead park tour is a thrilling, informative showcase of ancestral Puebloan history. Our tour covered many of the park’s highlights, including the Chapin Mesa Archaeological Museum, the legendary Cliff Palace, and the Spruce Tree House, pictured here. During our tour, we were afforded ample time to wander and explore interpretive sights; I spent my time walking the park’s trail system, including the Mesa Top Loop Road and the Petroglyph Pint Trail, looking for ancient carvings, cliff dwellings, and unique vantage points on some of the most important archaeological sites in the nation – a truly awe-inspiring experience.
