Splendid Sandwiches caught my eye as I made my way to the Observatory on the hill. The silver tables and chairs scattering the outside and inside of the small cafe shop weren't quite full at noon. And I wasn't terribly hungry yet for lunch, but my instincts were telling me that Splendid was going to provide me a great sandwich if I decided to stay for a bite. Gathering from other people's choices, the ingredients looked fresh. You can build your own or order from the suggested sandwich menu. I decided on a turkey-avocado-goat cheese, adding some alfalfa sprouts. No complaints here, it was delicious, but I did have a bit of food envy for the tandori chicken and guacamole on my friend's plate (pictured).
By 12:30 p.m., all of the tables were full of patrons. I guess Splendid Sandwiches is a local hotspot. Glad to know my instincts were right. Great, splendid sandwiches! Can't wait for another in the future.
