Sperrgebeit National Park
Sperrgebeit National Park, NamibiaThere’s a reason this park is little known outside Namibia. Until it was turned into a national park in 2008, the area was a private diamond concession, and entry was strictly prohibited by Namibian law. Apart from a few areas that were intensely mined, the area remains largely untouched. The biodiverse coastal dunes and mountains here are home to gembok, springbok, and brown hyena, as well as rare African oystercatchers.
