South Beach
Also nicknamed “SoBe,” South Beach is around 20 minutes from Mandarin Oriental Miami, and while Brickell Key has fine imported sand, you’ll still want to pay your respects to the granddaddy of Florida Beaches.

The setting for many movies and television shows, this area which was once farmland is now a gorgeous spot for sunbathers and swimmers and those who just want to be seen. Fashionable streets—Collins Avenue,Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road, and Sunset Harbour's Bay Road—are home to some of Miami’s best restaurants and hotspots including Lucali, a pizzeria that’s also famous for its calzones, as well as Macaluso’s, another popular Italian choice.

And yes, drinks are allowed on SoBe, so order that beer on tap or frozen cocktail in a plastic cup and get a bit of that famous Miami sun!
