The Wild Rugged Beaches of Sonoma
Once over the Golden Gate bridge continue onto Highway 1, the infamous coast highway past quaint seaside towns of Bodega Bay, Timber Cove, Jenner and Gualala. You will pass some of the most breathtaking beaches in California. Here you are dealing with the Pacific proper, and the coast resounds to its incredible power with huge waves that batter the cliffs and coves three sixty five days a year. You take this road and you want to keep on driving north into Oregon, getting a sense of the wildness before you, an image of how the whole coastline must have appeared a couple of hundred years ago.
