Diving the soft coral walls of Somosomo Strait
Fiji is often called the 'Soft Coral Capital of the World' almost entirely because of the outrageous coral walls in the Somosomo Strait. Ride the current past the multi-colored outcrops swaying like trees along the aptly named Rainbow Reef or the Great White Walls, a veritable blanket of white corals that's considered one of the most beautiful and unusual diving sites in the world. Of course there are tiny colorful fish everywhere and some large pelagics cruising through as well. Dive companies on Vanua Levu and Taveuni all lead trips to this underwater wonderland. Snorkelers can also give it a go.
