Bringing home the kelp
All I had was my iPhone to catch this dad-and-daughter scene. I was going for an early evening walk along the seawall in Sokcho (along the east coast of South Korea) when I noticed a guy, looking like an office worker still in his dress-shirt and slacks, going for an after-work bike ride with his daughter. But then he stopped along the jetty and purchased some 'mi-yeok' (edible kelp) from an older woman who had gathered some from the shore. Then he then rode off, passing right by me. I was hoping he would keep his balance, as neither parent nor child had a helmet...Why bring home the bacon, when seaweed will do just fine?
