When it comes right down to it, there is not a single restaurant that lets patrons get closer to the water than Snug Harbour in Port Credit. A covered patio wraps around the west and north walls of this popular eatery no more than twenty feet from water’s edge. It offers one of the best views of Port Credit, the mouth of the Credit River, and the blue expanse of Lake Ontario.
Ambiance inside isn’t too shabby either. Featuring modern flair with sleek lighting and fittings, Snug Harbour still pays tribute to both legacy and location with its fireplace, natural stone, hardwood floors, and hand-built models of schooners and barques.
And here’s an extra treat: though the place is known for the selection and quality of its seafood, this eatery down by the riverside also boasts some of the best desserts I’ve had on the lake.
