Snorkel with Dolphins
Niue's large coral reef makes it tough to find the long stretches of sandy beaches you typically picture on tropical islands—but it makes for terrific diving and snorkeling opportunities. The water is crystal clear with a visibility of 30 to 100 meters (98 to 330 feet), and the reef provides many nooks and crannies to explore. Large pods of spinner dolphins reside in the waters around Niue, and if you are lucky, you may find yourself swimming with dozens of them. Several tour operators take boat trips to the island's bays and most active snorkel spots, and they can point out Niue's diversity of marine life.
