Washington, D.C.’s Cultural Attractions

The big city isn’t far from EVEN Hotel Rockville, with Washington, D.C. a 40-minute drive or metro ride (from the Twinbrook station just two blocks from the hotel). You can visit the Mall, monuments, and memorials or say hello to your representative on Capitol Hill. Admission is always free at the Smithsonian’s museums and currently you can travel back to the future with a visit to “Fantastic Worlds: Science and Fiction 1780-1910” at the National Museum of American History which explores how advances in science and industry shaped the Victorian imagination (through October 2016). Or you can explore the frozen north of Iceland at the Natural History Museum where photographer Feodor Pitcairn’s haunting images of the country’s primordial landscape are on display through April 2017.
