Making hand-made Idria lace
Idrija lace, an important part of Slovenian cultural heritage, is a recognisable symbol of the hard-working and creative women of Idria. It is a noble tradition with which women enriched their families' modest budgets. The art of lacemaking has been continuously kept alive for over 130 years by Idria Lacemaking School. The most typical of all Idrija laces is the so called 'ris', a ribbon, traditionally made with six to eight pairs of bobbins. Surprise your dearest ones with Idria lace!
