Skywalk Observatory

50, 800 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02199, USA

Even 375 years after its founding, Boston remains a surprisingly low-rise city, especially when compared to, say, New York or Chicago. One of the major exceptions is the Prudential Tower, a 52-story skyscraper in the Back Bay that’s capped with an observation deck. The dearth of tall buildings nearby makes the 700-foot-high, 360-degree vistas from the Skywalk Observatory especially impressive, and a personal audio tour (including a special kid-friendly version) explains what you’re seeing, from Fenway Park to the Harbor Islands. Admission includes a pair of films on the city’s history and entrance to an immigration museum. Two stories up is the Top of the Hub restaurant, which serves up fantastic views as well as fine dining. Buying the Boston CityPASS is a smart way to save on the observatory admission fees and skip the lines, too.
