The Hotel Putting the Seychelles on Travelers' Radars
With its powdery beaches, nature reserves, and unique culture, the Seychelles Islands are a tropical paradise on par with the Maldives or French Polynesia, yet they remain largely unknown to travelers from the United States. That could change soon, thanks to better air service and a recent crop of world-class resorts, including the eco-minded Six Senses Zil Pasyon. The only lodging on the island of Félicité, the 30-villa resort leaves a light footprint on the environment, with solar power, crystal water filtration, and scientist-led projects dedicated to protecting native wildlife. The spa, built into rocky outcrops, with natural pools and waterfalls, includes a doctor-designed sleep program. From $1,340. —Sandra Ramani. This appeared in the January/February 2017 issue.
