Sirince is famous for its fruit wine. It is located near the major city of Izmir in Northern Turkiye, but also near Efes (Ephesus) and Selcuk, both of which have ruins. The fruit wine in Sirince is excellent, and everyone is very friendly. Be careful not to be ripped off or buy too many trinkets, as this place is a bit overpriced, but the fruit wine is an exceptable price given the quality. Go to the small fruit wine shop on the hill where you will see "Mustafa," who looks a little bit like a Turkish version of Einstein in terms of appearance. He will let you sample many fruit wines and keep you interested in a witty conversation. While this place is somewhat "touristie," it is much less so than many other places in Turkiye, and much more off the beaten path than places like Efes or Istanbul. People actually live in the village houses here. If you want to get to Sirince, probably the best way is a dolmus (minibus) from Selcuk, and you can get to Selcuk from Izmir by bus or train.
...Notice the dog on the roof in this picture!! It is completely real, not a statue! It actually barked at me!
