During our five week visit to Uganda we had the great fortune to discover Sipi Falls. The falls are on the lower slopes of Mt. Elgon, in the Kapchorwa district near the border of Kenya. It was, without a doubt, our favorite spot among the many places we visited. The scenery is magnificent, the people welcoming and fun, and the opportunities for unusual adventure were many. One of the highlights of our stay at Sipi was when my son and my nephew took a spontaneous (cold!) shower under the falls, which cascaded over a cliff more than 70 feet above them. Hey, whatever it takes to get them clean!
