Looking up Façade of Siena Cathedral
I am a sucker for architecture. Especially old architecture...Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque. And churches are the best representation of these styles. Europe is filled with cool churches and Italy takes the cake. I got up close to the cathedral in Siena and looked up at the façade. The sky cooperated with a mix of blue sky and clouds. It is a gorgeous church and I highly recommend stopping by. Siena is a nice place, if a bit touristy. Take the time to walk around and wander down some of the walkways. I ended up stumbling upon a couple of boys (maybe 13-15 years old) who were practicing with flags for the upcoming il Palio. It was a treat to see something every day like that.
