Shuang Long Shan Ancestral Hall

An Urban Graveyard in the Heartlands
It's pretty unusual for built-up and densely populated Singapore to have much open space, but in the midst of a popular public housing estate and just a five-minute walk from Commonwealth MRT lies this strange sight: a small plot of gravestones neatly lined up in a grid.

They belong to the Ying Fo Fui Kun, a Hakka Clan association that also owns the ancestral hall on that plot of land, which goes by the name Shuang Long Shan, or Double Dragon Hill. It's a surprisingly peaceful place in the daytime, and many residents take a shortcut through the graves unconcerned.
