Shikina-en Gardens

These peaceful gardens were created in the late 18th century around a graceful wooden palace, the second home and the entertainment venue for Okinawa’s royal family at that time. The palace and gardens were restored after World War II and now provide a scenic breath of fresh air and calmness at the edge of the city: Follow the hilly path through the woods to a pond that can be crossed via a picturesque stone bridge. The path is gravel, so wear appropriate footwear.
