Snorkelling, Surfing and Chilling on Tokoriki Island
The new Sheraton Tokoriki resort is the first international chain resort to open up in Fiji's spectacular Mamanuca Islands.
It's a chic, modern retreat. There is a good reef for diving off shore, but only really accessible during high tide and for strong swimmers. There is a small reef break for surfing or stand up paddle boarding, but disappointingly as of this review no dive shop or reasonably priced boat trips to other nearby snorkelling spots, of which there are many.
This feels more like one of Starwood's W branded properties than a Sheraton and certainly is a relaxing place to chill out with an amazing setting. It comes at a steep cost though - in addition to the room rates, dining will be at least $150 US per person per day, and during the initial opening there is only one restaurant option, the excellent but steeply priced "Flying Fish". Hopefully Sheraton offers more reasonably priced dining options and activities as the newly opened resort completes construction.
