Semana Santa de Sevilla
I dropped by Seville during Semana Santa and witnessed the amazingly visceral parades dedicated to Christ and his life. People dress in hooded garb, bang on drums at all hours, and parade through the streets in their Sunday finest carrying elaborate floats with often-gory effigies of Christ being crucified. The floats catch the sunlight and glitter, emphasizing the beautiful architecture and historical presence of the surrounding historic district. This is definitely something I will go back for--the sounds and sights haunt me still!
