Seringal Vila Paraíso Museum

s/n Igarapé São João

Manaus was built on rubber, and nothing better explains the role that it played in the city’s history than the Rubber Plantation Museum at Seringal Vila Paraíso. This re-creation of a rubber estate, originally the set for a popular 2002 Brazilian movie called A Selva, explores the work and lives of owners and rubber tappers. It lies just off the Igarapé Tarumã-Mirim river tributary and is reached via a 30-minute boat ride from the city.
