If you love lavender, you will really enjoy the annual lavender festival in Sequim, pronounced- 'squim'. During the month of July, the lavender farms in the state of Washington are in full bloom. Dozens of lavenders farms participate in the festival. Many farms offer handcrafted lavender products such as soaps, lotions, creams, sachets, jellies and other kinds of goods made using lavender.
The farm here in the photo is Purple Haze Lavender, Ltd. They run an organic lavender farm with a store on site that sells delicious home-made lavender ice cream. The house pictured is one of the 2 vacations rentals found on the property - http://www.purplehazelavender.com/index.html
Sequim Washington is near the gorgeous Olympic Mountain range, so there are some beautiful sights of lavender fields in full bloom with the snow capped mountains behind them. You can also find many wineries in the area, as well as hiking and other activities in the nearby mountains.
Tip: Beat the crowds by arriving a week or two early. The lavender is in bloom and the farm roads will be less crowded.
