Pleasant GreetingAt the entrance of of Seoraksan National Park you are greeted by an enormous metallic Buddha, and while a lot of mountains in Korea are host to Buddhist temples I like to think this guy gave me special powers in order to climb the 888 steps leading to the 5,603 feet summit of Seoraksan.
Trips to the area can be arranged through multiple Korean tour agencies like Hanatour, and camping can be arranged is you're so inclined.
When you're done climbing try dining at one of the restaurants in the area as these rural places often have unique cuisine incorporating rare proteins and vegetables like: quail, lotus root and fiddle head fern.
The attached link has thorough information on how to reach the park.
