Seljalandsfoss is one of the best-known waterfalls in Iceland. Seljalandsfoss right off Route 1, and it's impossible to miss. While it is a heavy tourist attraction, it's unlike any waterfall I've seen. In any other country, I would image this waterfall would be blocked off and covered in signs. While there were many people there, the site still felt untouched. You can walk straight up the waterfall, even walk behind it. There's also a small shop just south of the waterfall which had local knits and sheepskins.
It is quite impressive to be able to walk behind a waterfall. The mist on your skin, the roar of the water reverberating on the rock walls and the impressive flow in front of your eyes... An experience for all the senses!
