Thousands of years ago, a devastating volcanic eruption not only shaped Santorini's legendary caldera and cliffs, it also created a unique growing environment. Today, this volcanic soil nurtures special produce such as the Santorini Fava, Santorini White Eggplant and the Santorini Mini Tomato.
We spent the day learning about and tasting this Cycladic island's vegetables, scrumptious cheese, and wine at Selene Restaurant during a cooking class. As part of the class, we were taken under the wing of the award-winning, chic restaurant's chefs in the kitchen, trying our hands at four of the restaurant's signature recipes.
Finally, we got to enjoy the fruit of our labor. Thanks to our cooking class and experience behind-the-scenes, we understood that Selene’s perfection had not come easily.
