Marshland melds into briny depths in this section of far-southeast Texas. With 15 primitive campsites, a boat dock, and a handful of fishing piers, this is the place to unplug and get away from the noise. As one of Texas’s designated parks, no official fishing license is required, so cast away. Paddle a bevy of kayak and canoe trails, ranging from novice rated ones under two miles to much longer and advanced circuits. The 5.2 miles of coastline and 4,000-acres of bayou-like expanses are ideal for hiking.
