The Rose Covered Village of Siasconset
At the east end of the island you’ll find the historic and charming village of Siasconset, better known as ‘Sconset. Settled as a fishing village in the 17th century, make sure to walk below and see Codfish Park.

These old cottages have some of the best locations on the island and many a shanty keeps with the tradition of naming their house. Some are covered with colorful buoys, and after a visit, you’ll know where the term ‘rose covered cottage’ comes from. You can access the area by bike path or the seasonal shuttle and find refreshments in town to refuel.
