The name and vision for this neighborhood restaurant was inspired by the tough and spiritual protagonist, Santiago, in Hemingway's classic The Old Man and the Sea. The quirky and warm dining room, with multicolored floors and stained-glass artwork, provides a comfortable setting for sharing small plates from the menu. Some typical tapas offerings, like chopped tomato on toast, croquettas, and shrimp and chorizo skewers, are served alongside choices like pear and avocado salad, spicy shrimp bisque, and hoisin-glazed short ribs. Santiago's has proven so popular that two satellite bodegas have opened elsewhere in Florida, so reservations are suggested.
