Santiago's Bodega
Santiago's Bodega is a Florida staple for tapas. The Key West location was inspired by Ernest Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea as the main character is a fisherman named Santiago. The eatery opened in 2004 and is filled with beautiful stained glass and unique artwork. The dining room is comfortable with multi-colored wood floors, quirky signage and candle lit chandeliers among the various pieces around the space. The owner is Jason Dugan, whose family created many of the pieces at his childhood home. The menu consists of small plates, including cold tapas, salads and hot tapas. A common favorite is the puff pastry stuffed with mushrooms, onions and fresh herbs. Other highlights include the avocado and pear salad with smoky pine nuts and cheese.
