Elves Gone Wild at Seattle Santarchy
If you’ve been itching all year for an excuse to don your Santa suit, here’s your chance: Seattle Santarchy is a raucous annual costumed pub crawl dedicated to raising holiday spirits (in every sense of the word). Just look for the herd of red-suited, bearded men and women moseying en masse from one bar to another for a long day of festivities. In 2013, Seattle Santarchy is scheduled for Dec. 21, and the Santas will meet up in the International District at noon. If you want to join in, be sure to read the rules beforehand (wear a suit, always have candy or toys on hand to give out, and leave no Santa behind) — despite the name, the Santarchy folks aren’t about being ill-behaved louts or traumatizing kids with a Bad Santa run-in.
