Santa Barbara Bowl
The Santa Barbara Bowl is a 4,562-seat outdoor amphitheater carved into the hillside. Originally constructed in 1936 as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project under President Roosevelt, it now seasonally operates (typically April-early November) as a concert venue.

Joni Mitchell's 1980 double live album and concert film, Shadows and Light, was recorded at the Santa Barbara Bowl in September 1979. Since then everyone from Neil Young to Incubus, Khalid to Hans Zimmer have performed on the concrete stage.
