Downtown Glitz in Beijing
Before Sanlitun Village (or, technically, Sanlitun Taikoo Li), the district was better known for fake alcohol and drug-fueled fights. Post-village, the development has become a veritable catwalk for Beijing's fashionistas. The complex is split between two areas: the glitzy (and rather empty) “north” and the more pedestrian “south.” The latter has typical high-street stores like Zara and Uniqlo, while the north boasts high-end labels like Alexander McQueen and Versace. Go off-brand with the adorable silk textiles at Biorck & Co. or check out bold Chinese design at BNC.
