The Mon Timber Bridge, Sangkhlaburi,Thailand
This bridge is the longest wooden bridge in Thailand. Its located at Sangkhlaburi, commonly known as the South Central Plains. Sangkhlaburi is very near to the border with Myanmar. It's still used on a daily basis but for pedestrians only. The huge lake (Khao Laem Reservoir (75kms long) nearby is also well worth a visit. I stayed at a wonderfully peaceful hotel by the lake and ate the best Thai food I have ever experienced. An added pleasure is to sit on your own private pier that juts out over the lake and......relax. I was happy with a large glass of J&B whisky! If you need information about the hotel, please contact me.
