One of the best ways to see the Virgin Islands is via boat. It's an opportunity to cruise the open blue-green waters of the Caribbean and make a pit-stop on each island along the way. Some are lively hot spots for tourists and locals alike with a variety of restaurants, bars, and gift shops, while others are beautiful abandoned land masses left to explore.
The small island of Sandy Cay lies in between Tortola and Jost Van Dyke. Docking here is quite an experience. It is one of the more beautiful Islands I've ever seen, yet it's not filled with tourists. Surrounded by crystal clear waters, Sandy Cay is inhabited by lizards and snakes living amongst a maze of palm trees. Laying out on the sand with the ocean waves crashing at my feet, I thought to myself, I never want to leave.
