Sanctuary of Truth

The coastal city of Pattaya is home to the Sanctuary of Truth, a Khmer-influenced temple constructed in the 1980s. Incredibly, this temple made entirely of wood was built without the use of a single nail. Throughout the temple are amazingly detailed hand-carved sculptures, similar to those at Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia, but here done in wood rather than stone. The temple’s four gopuras (ornate towers) are covered in Hindu and Buddhist icons.
