Spend a Day at the Ballpark
While South Bay residents wait with bated breath to see if the Oakland A's will move to San Jose, the town already has a baseball team to cheer for: the San Jose Giants. For those of you who haven't gone to a minor league game, you don't know what you're missing. Sure, the stadium is not grandiose, but it's got a cozy intimate feel, the games are always fun (bring a glove and try your luck at catching a foul ball), and the food is great -- think mesquite-grilled chicken, barbecue ribs and potato salad, all washed down with a frosty fresh-squeezed lemonade. Best of all, you won't break the bank taking the family out to the ballgame. Try to go when there's a fireworks display. Better yet, if you have a Cub Scout in the family, go when the stadium has it's "camp on the field" night, where you can pitch your tents after the game and watch a movie on the big screen.
