San Felipe Neri
Nicolás Ortiz 165, Sucre, Bolivia
Sunset atop San Felipe NeriPossibly the best view of the city centre from downtown Sucre is atop the Convent of San Felipe Neri, a neoclassical style church that now functions as an all-girls school. Established in 1795, the monastery and church not only boast some of the best panoramic views in town, but also house the tombs of prominent locals from the 17th and 18th centuries in the crypt, including the last president of the Real Audiencia of Charcas and other archbishops. Head to the rooftop and bell tower around sunset to enjoy striking colors cast against the convent's traditional white wash.
