San Diego Zoo
When you step in the world famous San Diego Zoo, you essentially go on a journey around the world as you explore 100-acres of habitats that recreate everything from the Australian Outback to the South Africa Coastline. The zoo cares so much about making animal enclosures authentic, it recreates rock formations from specific regions like jagged tsingy rocks from Madagascar. The impressive Africa Rocks exhibit debuted in 2017 and includes six enclosures from an Ethiopian Highland where baboons roam to an Acacia Woodland where you might see a leopard draped over an Acacia tree. The zoo is home to more than 3,700 rare and endangered animals like giant pandas, Malayan tigers and Asian and African elephants.
