Riffles make the ride a hoot when you drift down the San Antonio River, near Goliad. Join a fleet of craft, from kayaks to tubes, then mosey along this 6.6 mile route. Shooting through Goliad State Park, the river runs past Mission Espiritu and presents steep banks and oak-carpeted shores. Overnight camping is possible, and fisher folk should bring their rod and reels to catch a crowd pleasing bass—or two. Plan your float for one of the two weekends a year when the park sponsors a whimsical canoe flotilla.
