San Angelo State Park
Start your visit off in San Angelo State Park where 50 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails weave through wildflowers and cacti. En route, keep an eye out for bison and longhorn herds, as well as American Indian rock art and fossilized animal tracks. Wildlife finds continue at the San Angelo Nature, where animals and insects native to the southwest—tarantulas and bobcats, turtles and porcupines—are on display.
