Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park
One of the world’s great whale feeding grounds for minke, beluga, blue and other species, the nutrient-rich waters of the estuary and fjords that make up the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park lie where the Saguenay river flows into the St. Lawrence. The first French trading outpost of Tadoussac is today a popular tourist village. Smack in the river, the 80-foot-high, quirky circular platform Haut-Fond Prince lighthouse protects ships from dangerous shoals.
