Saffron Coffee’s Espresso, Brew Bar, & Roastery
Occupying two levels of an old wooden house overlooking the Mekong, Saffron serves some of the best coffee in Luang Prabang. The café purchases its local, sustainably grown beans from more than 750 hill-tribe families, giving them a steady—and in some cases new—source of income. In fact, some of the farmers are former opium cultivators who have switched over to coffee. Saffron also features a compact food menu, served in a cool, environmentally aware space that features giant burlap coffee bags as wall hangings.
